The latest ID@XBOX Games Showcase has just wrapped up and amongst the slew of great looking games from independent studios was Croak, a precision platformer by Woodrunner Games.
It’s the stuff of fairy tales, once upon a time, a kingdom fell under a curse, and its gluttonous prince was transformed into a frog! Now it’s down to the Prince Frog to unravel the mystery of the curse, restore all of his subjects back to humans and rid the realm of the deadly vines that plague the land.
Croak featured at gamescom 2024, and we haven’t seen much of it since, so it’s great to see the game’s return at the ID@XBOX showcase.
Check out the new trailer below which confirms the game’s release window of March 2027.
The game features some fun looking mechanics, including tongue-grapple and pinball-bouncing. The game features hand-drawn art by artists who have previously worked on Cuphead and Rick and Morty!
Although we don’t have an exact date, I’ll be keeping my ears to the ground and will let you all know as soon as we get a date. I’m excited for this one!
Croak is slated to release on PC and Xbox Series. It will also release day one on Xbox Game Pass.
