Nintendo has one of the richest back catalogue of games in the industry. With a well-known library of IP that spans just about every gaming generation, the Nintendo Classics library, part of Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) continues to grow. Part of the higher tier Expansion Pack of NSO, the list of Game Boy Advance games available to subscribers has steadily since it launched in 2023 including the likes of Dr. Mario & Puzzle League.
With the October update to NSO, the platform have confirmed that three new GBA titles will be available to subscribers today:
- Monster Rancher Advance
- Metal Slug Advance
- Kururin Paradise
Whilst Metal Slug Advance will likely be the most recognisable of the bunch, there is already a buzz online about the addition of Kururin Paradise. The follow up to GBA launch title, Kuru Kuru Kururin which is already part of NSO, Kururin Paradise released in 2002 in Japan only. Ports for other markets were cancelled, so this is the first time the game has been easily accessible in the West. Monster Rancher Advance meanwhile is a 2001 release that tasks players with raising and fighting monsters. Now, where have I heard of that on a Nintendo system before?
Whilst Nintendo continue to grow their NSO library, their VP for Latin America recently confirmed that they will not be ditching physical games for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 anytime soon.
