While there’s no shortage of fantastic horror games to play now, including title’s we’ve recommended such as Silver Pines and Silent Hill: Townfall, there’s still plenty for fans to look forward to beyond this Halloween season. One such title is publisher Top Hat Studios’ BECROWNED, a new psychological horror debut from 13th Street Studio, which received a new trailer during the Horror Game Awards.

BECROWNED is inspired by PS1/PS2 era survival horror games and 1970s grindhouse cinema. It follows protagonist Richard Torrance as he navigates a bizarre, nightmarish world manifest out of his aggressive desire to gain control of his life. 13th Street Studio launched a demo for the game last October which it has continued to update throughout 2026 in response to fan feedback.

Today, the studio and publisher revealed a new look at the game’s dark story and brutal world, which is inspired by Russian culture and literature. It has also been confirmed that BECROWNED will now release in ‘Q1 2027’ as opposed to the previous window of ‘Q4 2026’.

On the bright side, the game will now also arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S at launch, meaning console players will also have an opportunity to explore its grim world when it releases early next year.
