Mojang Studios and Double Eleven are about to release Minecraft Dungeons 2 with publisher XBOX. With the game set to release next week on Xbox Series S/X, PC, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 on September 29th we can now reveal when reviews will be available to read.
Often times XBOX published games have a review embargo on release day, but Minecraft Dungeons 2 is a bit earlier. The review embargo for Minecraft Dungeons 2 lifts on its release day on Monday September 28th at 9am ET/6am PT/1pm GMT/10pm JST.
And if you are looking for a review from Gamer Social Club, we will indeed have a review up when that embargo ends, written by yours truly.
Minecraft Dungeons 2 is the next chapter in the Dungeons spinoff of Minecraft. The first game was a surprise hit for many blending Minecrafts art style with gameplay elements similar to games like Diablo. From what has been shown so far Minecraft Dungeons 2 will look to continue providing that type of gameplay.
Minecraft Dungeons has become one of the bigger hits under the XBOX portfolio having hit 25 million players back in 2023. Can Minecraft Dungeons 2 repeat that success? Time will tell but the Minecraft IP is as big as ever so it wouldn’t surprise me if it does.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 will release September 29th with a standard edition as well as a deluxe edition. For those like me that prefer a physical edition of games there will be a retail version as well. It will also release day one on XBOX Game Pass Ultimate.

The physical edition is the Deluxe Edition and retails for that same $49.99USD/$69.99CAD price point. It should be noted that the Nintendo Switch 2 version is a Game Key Card meaning it is just a download key rather than the data being on the cartridge.
