As a Gears of War fan it’s almost surreal to think Gears of War: E-Day is almost here, but indeed it is! Launching October 6th, or October 1st if you buy the premium upgrade, the game is a week away. So when can critics start dropping their reviews, we now know the answer to when embargoes will lift!

The Gears of War: E-Day embargo will lift October 1st at 6am PT/9am ET/1pm GMT/10pm JST. It should be noted that reviewers only have access to the campaign so any scores you see won’t include horde or multiplayer. That said many played the open beta so it wouldn’t shock me if some included a bit about the multiplayer.

As for Gamer Social Club we will be one of those sites that has a review up and ready at embargo so make sure to check back and see what we think. I personally previewed the game earlier this summer and it was showing a lot of promise then.

Pricing & Edition Details

With Gears of War: E-Day being an Xbox Series S/X console exclusive (and on PC) there are a few options for players to purchase the game. It is also day 1 on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on October 6th. For those who want the game early on October 1st you can purchase the premium upgrade.

In total there are 3 editions you can purchase, though the collectors edition is sold out at the moment. No word on if they will restock.
