Edge of Memories Announces Release Date

Earlier this year I was able to preview Edge of Memories, which will be the final release from Midgar Studios. Unfortunately the studio was ordered to be liquidated as shared by Jérémy Zeler-Maury, founder and former CEO of Midgar Studio, and current CTO of Nacon. After playing the preview and hearing that the company was being liquidated, I was unsure if Edge of Memories would release.

So of course I was happy to hear that Edge of Memories would still release. Today, I was even happier to see the release date is not too far away. During the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 showcase, we learned that Edge of Memories would be released November 5th. The trailer also highlights some of the Japanese voice acting for the first time.

In the trailer we see more of Eline, our main character, dealing with the corrosion that is spreading across Avaris. She is a Soul Whisperer and interestingly enough, someone who is also able to channel the corruption and use it to defeat monsters around her. Will this also take her over in the long run? She sees herself as a beast but perhaps there is more to it than that. She can become the darkness in the light, can’t she?

Those who are looking forward to Edge of Memories can pre-order it on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Those who pre-order will receive a legacy costume pack. The costumes will look familiar if you’ve played Midgar Studio’s previous entry, Edge of Eternity. As a note, while the game will be available on Steam, there are no pre-orders for Steam. Instead, for a period of time, those who purchase the game on Steam will get access to the legacy costume pack. No word on how long that time period will be just yet.

For those in an interest in a Deluxe Edition, this version will come with a digital soundtrack, digital artbook, and two costume packs. Those who order physical on Xbox and PlayStation 5, will also receive a steelbook case for their physical copy. The two costume packs are a Nekaroo costume pack and a French History pack. Additionally those who pre-order the deluxe edition will be able to play 48 hours early.

Personally, I’m very much looking forward to enjoying my time with Eline and crew. It’s bittersweet as a send off for the Midgar Studio team. However, it does seem they have put a lot of heart into this one. Since the preview and demo, they have added additional features based on feedback. While clearing out bugs they also mention adding motion blur toggles which will make Edge of Memories more accessible to gamers.

Edge of Memories will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on November 5th. You can pre-order your console editions starting today. Let us know in the comments below if you’ll be adding this one to your collection.
