Nintendo continue to offer new life to their fantastic repertoire of beloved franchises, with Metroid, Kirby and other B-tier Nintendo series. One franchise making a big comeback this year is Star Fox. Starting with the crossover appearance in the Super Mario Galaxy movie in the spring, followed by an excellent full remake of Star Fox on Switch 2 not too long ago.
As everyone’s favourite intergalactic fox re-enters the hearts and minds of gamers, Nintendo have announced at today’s Nintendo Direct – which you can recap on all the announcements here – that Star Fox Adventures will join Nintendo Switch Online today.
Star Fox’s visit to a dinosaur planet is something of a love / hate with fans of the series. Very much a turn of pace from the space warfare the franchise is known for, Adventures changed track to be a platforming adventure. Alongside dino pal Tricky, Fox will traverse the planet unravelling the secrets and mysteries it holds.
Star Fox Adventures is now available on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, and playable on Nintendo Switch 2. What a great reason to plug in the GameCube controller for Switch 2, ay?
If you’re looking for more traditional Star Fox gameplay and have already played this year’s remake, be sure to check out Wild Blue Skies which launched in August. The title, heavily inspired by Fox McCloud’s adventures, is a solid on-rails space shooter.
