ATLUS took to Pax West to 2026 to bring more information on the upcoming Persona 4 remake, Persona 4 Revival. At the panel fresh from gamescom 2026 was Kazuhisa Wada, General Producer of the Persona Team who was ready to dive deeper into the game. Joining Kazuhisa was Shigenori Soejima, character designer and Illustrator, and Akane Kabayashi, Art Director for P4R. Moderating the panel was Anne Yatco the new voice of Chie Satonaka one of the playable characters in P4R.
While the panel spoke to the 30th anniversary of the Persona series as well, the focus truly was on P4R. They discussed some of the inspiration for the game from it’s humble beginnings. Panelists also discussed how they imagine their shadow would be if faced with them. Of course all of this was to slowly build up anticipation for the real star of the show, Kanji Tatsumi with his trailer premiering for the first time during the event.
To take it up a notch, Daman Mills, the newly announced voice actor for Kanji joined the panel to discuss his experience. Mills also took to Twitter/X to share their excitement.
SURPRISE! Y’all, I’ve been so freakin’ excited for this one! ? It is my immense honor to finally share that I’m the English voice of Kanji Tatsumi in Persona 4 Revival.??

I want to extend my gratitude to the folks at @SEGA @Atlus_West and Studiopolis for trusting me with such… pic.twitter.com/Tw4GwOEATW
For those unfamiliar with Kanji from the first game, he is a first year student known a bit more as a delinquent. However he is strong, fiercely loyal, and sticks to his convictions like no other. His persona is known as Take-Mikazuchi also sharing the skull motif Kanji wears on his shirt. Historically, Kanji has been cited as a notable character due to what can be viewed as gender and sexuality insecurities and how this played out in a game initially released in 2008. It will be interesting to see how they handle this in the upcoming release.
In addition to the announcement, there was a live dubbing by both Yatco and Mills in their respective characters. This also allowed characters to get a few more glimpses at cut scenesallowing viewers to see the dynamic between characters.
The panel closed out with a Q&A from those in the audience. Questions were ranging game development in general to developing revival with new and improved changes from the original. They spoke about the decision to add the Pathfinder into the Persona 4 Revival as well. The Pathfinder a new feature, shows players the path to the end of a dungeon. It also means that players can ignore the correct path to explore if they choose to instead. Players will have the ability to toggle this on and off for those to help create their own experience.
And yes, they did say, everyone’s favorite funky student will be returning to Persona 4. This time with more polish, or will that be more funk?
The panel is viewable on the Pax Twitch and YouTube channels as well. Those who do attend the event have the opportunity to enjoy a hands on demo of Persona 4 Revival. The game will launch on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC, and it will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
