Get yourself ready to explore the demon-infested ruins of Paris as Armatus’ release date is confirmed at gamescom.

During the Xbox @ gamescom Day 2 Broadcast (you can check out the Day 1 summary here) the release date was confirmed in a new trailer. Armatus will release on PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series on 7 January 2027. You can watch the new trailer below:

Developed by Counterplay Games Inc., Armatus sees you taking control of the last supernatural warrior of an ancient order. You are equipped with firearms and “celestial powers”. You mission is to the seek out a lost gateway to heaven – the Sunless Gate.

As Armatus is a roguelite, you will fight and die, and fight and die some more. Of course, with each run, you’ll learn how to evolve and defeat your foes.

I’m really liking the look of Armatus, it looks like a lot of fun, and will be keeping an eye on it as we get closer to release. Are you looking forward to this one?

Armatus releases 7 January 2027 for PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series. It launches day one on Xbox Game Pass.
