Check out the latest trailer and extended gameplay video for Alien Deathstorm, the brand new title from Sniper Elite’s Rebellion.
It’s been five months (almost to the day) since Rebellion unveiled their next game, Alien Deathstorm, a first-person shooter, survival-horror hybrid. The game was unveiled at the Xbox Partner Preview showcase back in March and since then we’ve not heard or seen much of the game, until this week.
At gamescom, Rebellion showed us more of Alien Deathstorm as part of the Xbox @ gamescom Broadcast (Check out what was announced on Day 1 and Day 2). They spent some time chatting on the Broadcast about the game, and also showed off a new gameplay trailer, which you can check out below.
It’s All a Bit Alien to Me…
In Alien Deathstorm, you will play as a Combat Engineer, a highly trained first responder. You’ve been dispatched to a remote off-world colony that has had a total communications blackout. You are tasked with understanding what the hell’s gone on, and try to save as many folk as you can. As you arrive, a Deathstorm is causing all manner of havoc to the colony. You will be fighting against the storm and a number of terrifying looking alien creatures.
The game is heavily influenced by the 1980s analogue world as well as VHS sci-fi and Lovecraftian eldritch horror. This isn’t the Rebellion’s first foray into first-person horror shooters. They previously released the much loved Aliens Versus Predator titles back in 2000 and the 360 / PS3 title in 2010.
Following the Xbox @ gamescom Broadcast, Rebellion released an extended gameplay walkthrough, “Reactor Meltdown” which features nearly 25 minutes of gameplay. The video shows you, the main character, exploring a failing reactor facility where you must battle deadly aliens and environmental dangers.
Everything about Alien Deathstorm looks to be shaping up to be another hit for Rebellion. After their bumper 2025, with Sniper Elite: Resistance and Atomfall, I can’t wait to return to one of their worlds
Alien Deathstorm is targeting a Spring 2027 launch for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. It will launch day one on Xbox Game Pass.
