TANUKI: Pon’s Summer Trailer Release at Gamescom 2026

Have you ever just felt the itch to live a simpler life? A small town in the mountains, where life moves slower? Yeah – same. Well, I may not be able to do that anytime soon. But, I can at least live vicariously through the gameplay of an upcoming title. We got a glimpse at the gameplay of TANUKI: Pon’s Summer just yesterday at FGS at Gamescom.

TANUKI: Pon’s Summer is an open-world life simulation game from the folks over at Denkiworks. As the name of the game implies, we’ll be assuming the role of Pon. Pon is the mail delivery…tanuki (just run with it)…of four small towns nestled in the mountains. Throughout the game, Pon will need to deliver packages to the various residents of the area. But he’ll need to ensure that he accounts for the sizes and weights of everything he delivers.

But that’s not all Pon will be doing in TANUKI: Pon’s Summer. We’ll be building friendships with our neighbors and eventually, get invited to complete various sports and activities. Catching bugs, fishing, playing baseball (because why not) and so many more things will be at our…pawtips.

TANUKI: Pon’s Summer will also have mechanics in place to improve the visual appeal of various areas of the town. By doing so, Pon will be able to help upgrade the town to get ready for the festival at the end of the summer.

TANUKI: Pon's Summer

While TANUKI: Pon’s Summer currently does not have a release date, there is a demo available via Steam.
