The publishing team at Dotemu and developers Homo Ludens have announced Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern releasing on PC in 2027.
Step into Dalelands, a wild, ancient and fertile part of the continent of Faerûn, a continent fans of the Dungeons & Dragons franchise may know well. Open up your inn to all those weary travelers after a quest and serve them drinks so they may forget their woes. While they’ll pay nicely for a drink and some lodging, you can also get them to do your dirty work. Send those adventurer’s who stay at your inn on their next quest and have them bring back some rewards. Use these rewards in your next beverage or meal that you’ll serve. A nice little economy you have growing there don’t you think?
This management sim isn’t just about choosing the drinks you’ll serve and sending out adventuring parties. It’s also about creating new food and drink along the way. Experiment with ingredients that you purchase and acquire to see what new menu items you can unlock. These will help you grow your renown and attract higher level patrons to your inn. Of course that also means you’ll attract a rival innkeeper as well. It is Faerûn, your enemies may not be in combat but in share of the market!
It isn’t just about what you can buy, sell, and who you can house. While that is a good chunk of the game, there is so much customization that comes with Dungeons & Dragons: Long Rest Tavern. You can choose your race, class, before diving into choosing your face, outfit colors, and any headwear and facial hair you’d like. Once you’ve created your avatar you’ll be on your way to customizing your inn. Design the layout of your inn, where you’ll store all your brewing stations, and where the customers will find their reprieve from the wild. As someone who had a D&D character marry an innkeeper, this is quite exciting.
