In all my years of gaming, which let’s be honest with each other, is quickly getting to a number even I’m to scared to acknowledge, there has only been one RPG that I have sunk hundreds of hours into on a single save. That game of course is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. How I was able to achieve all those hours as a college kid I’ll never know. But that’s a conversation for another time.

CD Projekt Red has been on a bit of a tear lately. From fixing the mess that Cyberpunk 2077 was on release to announcing the continuation of The Witcher series with The Witcher 4, many would say that they could do no wrong. It appears that they are still intent with making sure they retain the title of one of the best game developers in the world. Not only did they finally give us a trailer for the much anticipated DLC Songs of the Past, but they have also casually thrown in that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is getting a remaster.

Is it going to be full cost for all of us who bought it years ago? Well of course not. It’s free. Check out the trailer for both down below.

More on the Wild Hunt Remaster

The remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has a laundry list of new additions from an upgraded combat system (More then likely the same combat as The Witcher 4 I’m hoping!), new visuals including all the fancy features. like Ray Tracing. and others we’ve come to expect in the modern age, redesigned skill trees, and even new finishers and horse traversal. If you still have not played the masterpiece that is The Witcher 3, now you have no more excuses. The remaster officially goes live on September 29th, 2026 and is free to all owners of the original game.

The last forty or so seconds of the trailer is reserved for the DLC, Songs of the Past. Sadly, I have never had the opportunity or willpower to dive back into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for any of the DLCs. But it appears I will have no choice but to dive right in before Songs of the Past officially releases sometime in 2027.
