gamescom Opening Night Live was full of fresh debuts of some of the hottest games that are scheduled to release this year and beyond. Beneath some of the blockbuster titles including The Witcher 3’s new DLC and Final Fantasy VII Revelation, there were some very exciting indies brought to us by Geoff Keighley and his stage guests.
One of the my most anticipated indies in development, Lofsöng has reappeared at the show. Whilst the video title says this is a world premiere, it isn’t actually. Lofsöng was previously revealed at the ID@XBOX April showcase, with an art style that looked somewhere between Limbo and Cocoon, the largely noir title appeared stunning.
Brought to the stage by Geoff Keighley, Creative Director, Alessandro Durando gives an emotive introduction to his game: “There is a question at the heart of Lofsöng. What do we leave behind and for whom.”
From the two trailers we now have, it’s still a little hard to gauge how the game will play, however it does appear to be inspired by classic indie, Journey. Described by the studio, Unrelated Studio as ‘an art-driven exploration puzzle adventure’, this looks like it could be one of the most stylised indies in development. It is indeed one to watch.
Lofsöng will be coming to PC (Steam and XBOX PC) and XBOX Series X|S in the future, with no release window currently stated. Players can wishlist the title on their chosen platform now.
