Gamescom is starting strong early as its opening day show featured a trailer for the much anticipated Crazy Taxi revival. Crazy Taxi: World Tour looks to keep the frantic arcade driving intact as it heads towards its release next year.

Focus on the multiplayer aspect was the name of the game as it showed multiple drivers tearing up the city streets all to a familiar sounding punk rock soundtrack. It looks as if at least 4 friends will be able to race through the city at once as they fight to see who can get the best fares and fastest times by driving as recklessly as possible.

Outside of a couple of mobile games, ports and free to play titles, it’s been 22 years since Crazy Taxi has had a major release on a console with Crazy Taxi 3 back in 2004. World tour is just one of many games Sega is bringing back as part of its retro revival which is already off to a strong start. Games like Streets Of Rage 4 and Shinobi Art of Vengeance have been excellent and hopefully Crazy Taxi World Tour continues the success.

While there’s no official date yet, Crazy Taxi World Tour is planned to launch sometime in 2027. A trailer can be reviewed here showing off the game’s multiplayer. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is set to launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series platforms and Nintendo Switch 2.
