Earlier this summer, XBOX had a global collaboration with Fanta which offered in-game rewards for key XBOX games with the purchase of a drinks can or bottle. When I was in Greece for one of my summer holidays I was able to grab a code which provided me an ugly, but lovely, yellow Master Chief skin for Halo: Campaign Evolved:
Now, XBOX are partnering with McDonalds in the UK and Ireland are to offer a new foodstuff collaboration which will again offer customers free in-game rewards with the purchase of items. Initially teased by McDonalds UK Instagram (below), the partnership is now confirmed.
The “items inspired [by] the foods and flavours of XBOX gaming” will be available in the ‘Side Missions’ collaboration are very similar to those offered in the Fanta collaboration (thanks IGN):
- Halo: Campaign Evolved — Master Chief Armour
- Forza Horizon 6 — Car Voucher
- Fallout 76 — Sugar Bomb Bundle
- Candy Crush Saga — Booster Bundle
- World of Warcraft — Red Hot Portable Bakery
- Overwatch — Kiriko Donut Break Emote
The collaboration, taking place as part of XBOX’s 25th anniversary celebration year, will launch from August 25, 2026.
