With Xbox’s 25th anniversary taking place later this year, you can expect that the platform will want to make a significant marketing splash about the milestone. With new console / PC hybrid hardware currently codenamed, Project Helix in the works and possibly releasing next year, this could be a big (and needed) branding opportunity for Xbox.

They have now announced a new birthday partnership with Fanta and will be launching a range of branded drinks that will hit shelves in April.

Featuring many of Xbox’s key IP including Halo, Call of Duty and Forza Horizon – all which will see new releases in their respective franchises this year – Fanta will be offering the chance to win in-game rewards for all featured games. The other two franchises that are part of this campaign are Blizzard’s Diablo and World of Warcraft. Fans will need to scan QR codes on the cans / bottles to unlock interactive challenges that can lead to in-game rewards.

There are bonuses for games yet to be released. Both Forza Horizon 6 and Halo: Campaign Evolved launch later this year on Xbox, PC and PS5. The rewards for those titles will be obtainable once the games launch. That Halo armor is absolutely lovely and will stand out delightfully in the game’s four-player co-op.

The rewards that are part of the programme are:

  • Halo: Campaign Evolved – The Master Chief’s Fantastic Spartan Armor [Redeemable beginning at launch]
  • World of Warcraft – Fantastical Goblin Waveshredder Mount and more WoW rewards
  • Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 – Tactical Orange Calling Card and 1-Hour 2XP Level Token
  • Diablo IV – Citron Whirl Town Portal
  • Forza Horizon 6 – 1966 Toyota Sports 800 Fanta Edition [Redeemable beginning at launch]

Full details are available via the Xbox Wire.

The new Xbox and Fanta promotion will be available worldwide, so if Fanta is on sale in your country then there’s a good chance you’ll be able to get your hands on these unique drinks and the rewards on offer.

If you missed the Xbox Partner Direct last week, be sure to check out all the announcements here. The annual summer Xbox Games Showcase and Gears of War E:Day Direct has also been dated for June. It’s a big year for Xbox.
