One of this years indie surprises, Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth will be coming both PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 next month. The game which previously launched in April on Switch and PC received a glowing 8.5 in our review and will release on the new platforms on September 18, 2026.
A PS5 and Switch 2 release date trailer which features some of the cutesy gameplay you can expect on this adventure, has been shared by the developers:
Developer Hyper Games have confirmed that people who own the Switch version of the game can secure a free upgrade to the Switch 2 version from the Switch 2 versions launch.
Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth Physical Editions
The console release will be accompanied by physical editions for both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. The standard edition will sold at most reputable retailers, however well-regarded physical media producer, iam8bit will be handling the Collector’s Edition launch and there’s more information on availability here.
There will be no Switch 2 physical release. Both the standard and Collector’s Edition physical copies will include stickers and a digital soundtrack from the game. Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth will release physically in both PEGI and ESRB markets.
