As part of the ongoing celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the much beloved JRPG, Final Fantasy X, Square Enix are holding the FINAL FANTASY X MUSEUM- Memories of Phantomlight, with tickets for the fortnight long event have gone on sale today.
This is one of the many things that the publisher has announced for FFX’s anniversary, which also include a pop-up shop, several clothing collaborations, and the upcoming release of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster on Nintendo Switch 2 later this year.
The official website for the event, which is being held from September 12th to the 27th in Tokyo, Japan, has been updated with various pieces of information, including exhibition details, ticket information, and commemorative merchandise.
Below are the pieces of commemorative merch that have been revealed so far (Note: All images are samples and may not represent the final product):
First up is the FFX lucky charm-style keychain collection, with each blind box containing 8 random keychain charms (with no guarantee it will have one of each). Each box will cost 7,040 yen, and the charms are acrylic and measure 4.5 x 7 cm.
Next is a masking tape set with three different designs, one with the main party character portraits, the second featuring white Yevon text on a black background, and the last depicting all of the Blitzball team logos. Made from paper, each roll is approximately 5m long, with the Blitzball tape being 1.8cm wide, while the other two measure 3cm. The set will cost 1,320 yen.
The only piece of clothing included so far, the Zanarkand Abes zip jacket comes in black, with red tribal markings on the sleeves and the Zanarkand Abes Blitzball team logo on the back. The jacket, which will cost 17,600 yen, comes in sizes L and XL, and is made from 100% cotton with a 100% polyester lining.
A stand out piece from this commemorative collection has to be the Yojimbo clamshell purse, complete with charm of the mysterious warrior’s canine companion, Daigoro. Printed on the interior lining is “What do you want of me?” in Japanese, which is the question Yojimbo asks you in the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth, and given how you have to pay him to act when summoned, this all feels very appropriate! The purse is approximately 10cm x 13cm, and will cost 1,650 yen.
Another highlight for us is the Auron’s Flask shoulder bag, which comes with an adjustable synthetic leather strap and zip opening on one side of the polyester bag. It measures approximately 11 x 25 cm, and will cost 4,950 yen.
For the Lulu fans out there, the Mowgli tote bag is the one for you, with the Black Mage’s Moogle doll companion depicted on the side (available only in black, of course). Measuring approximately 36 x 37 x 11cm, it will cost 3,630 yen.
Up next is the Blitzball League gadget case, a hard case with a double zip that has the Blitzball League logo on one side and the Blitzball team logos on the other. The dimensions of the case are approximately 10.5 x 17.7 x 5.5 cm, and will cost 3,300 yen.
Measuring at approximately 60 x 35 cm and with a rubberised underside, the FFX World Map Mat is the perfect addition to any Final Fantasy X fan’s gaming setup, and will cost 2,200 yen.
A range of acrylic blocks depicting each member of the main cast and party have been revealed, each one measuring approximately 10 x 6 cm, and will cost 1,100 yen each.
Taking the prize for strangest piece of the Final Fantasy X Museum commemorative merchandise revealed so far has to be the the Bahamut fidget spinner, which is designed after the golden halo that floats behind the powerful summon. Made of zinc alloy and with a diameter of 7 cm, the Bahamut fidget spinner will be yours for 1,650 yen.
Following the fidget spinner we have two Jetstream 4-colour mechanical pens, one decorated with the Zanarkand Abes Blitzball team logo and the other with Sea Hibiscus design inspired by the main character Yuna. They will cost 2,200 yen each.
Metal keychains are next, emblazoned with the Blitzball League and the Zanarkand Abes logos, respectively. The zinc alloy charm measures 6 x 6 cm, and they will cost 1,320 yen each.
The item most likely to get a big pop from FFX fans is the Blitzball cushion! Perfect for practising your Jecht Shot, the Blitzball cushion cover is made from 100% polyester and has an approximate diameter of 40cm. It will cost 5,500 yen.
To help calm us down after that last reveal is the Yevon Script teacup, which features a repeated pattern of Yevon script in black on a white background. Made from porcelain, measuring approximately 7.2 x 10.2 cm, and both microwave and dishwasher safe, the Yevon Script teacup will cost 2,200 yen.
Definitely the tastiest-looking piece of merch we’ve seen in a while are these Manju, a traditional Japanese bun that often has a sweet red bean filling. There are six in a pack, with a pack costing 1,296 yen (Best before date: 60 days from manufacture).
Last are made-to-order metallic frames with one of two iconic shots from Final Fantasy X, titled ‘Zanarkand’ and ‘Sacred Fountain’, respectively. Don’t be fooled by the name, the frame is actually wood, just given a treatment to create a metallic finish, and comes with a glass panel. The full dimensions of the frame are approximately 40 x 28 cm, and will cost 14,300 yen. The cost includes the price of shipping, which will be at a later date.
That is all of the commemorative merchandise revealed for the FINAL FANTASY X MUSEUM- Memories of Phantomlight! While these items seem to be exclusive to the event, we imagine that savvy FFX fans will find a way to get their hands on some without having to make the journey to Tokyo.
