When one of the most beloved games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise gets a full impressive rebuild, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the game would be off to a sales flyer. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has hit a huge sales milestone, achieving two million sales in just a day since launch.
Announcing the sales milestone to X (formerly Twitter) with a pirate pun, the official AC page thanked players for getting on board within the first 24 hours: “Whether you’re sailing with us again, or stepping aboard the Jackdaw for the first time: THANK YOU from the bottom of ARR hearts.”

Martin Schelling, Head of Assassin’s Creed Brand spoke of the success saying: “Black Flag has always held a special place in the heart of the community, and ours.” and added ”Bringing it back with Resynced was a promise to that passion for Edward’s adventures, and to the unique sense of freedom players experienced back then. Seeing so many players set sail on day one, along with the great reviews from critics, is the greatest reward we could have hoped for.”
Black Flag Resynced is a true generational upgrade, to a game special to many. In our glowing review of the game we said: “The sheer beauty of an age long since past has been recreated in a way that makes you feel like you’re sailing through the Caribbean all those centuries ago”.
The new release is currently the top selling game on Steam, and sits only behind the incredibly pricy Steam Machine in the entire Steam top sales charts. It is also in the top 20 most played games on the platform which is an impressive debut for a singleplayer, premium price release.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is now available on PC, PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S. There is no mention of a Switch 2 release, however considering the previous AC title, Shadows has since seen a capable port on Nintendo’s handheld, it may just be a matter of time.
