A new gameplay trailer has just been revealed for upcoming narrative-driven cleaning game, Clean Start.
Developers, Serious Sim have announced that Clean Start will launch on Steam in Q4 2026 and will be published in partnership with cozy game specialist Amplified Games. Clean Start joins an assortment of cozy games on Amplified Games’ roster like Polterguys: Possession Party and Little Problems: A Cozy Detective Game.
Inspired by real stories, Clean Start, by Polish developers Serious Sim, follows the life of Lena, a young woman who’s navigating her life after migrating to work in a foreign country. With her limited understanding of the local language, she uses what she uncovers while cleaning houses to piece together her client’s heartfelt stories.

In a newly released Q&A interview with Serious Sim Artist and Game Director Katarzyna Haptas, we get to hear more about the inspiration behind Clean Start.
“Most of us have experienced having a parent work abroad to support the family financially. So the game is inspired by that wave of economic migration in the 90s and more specifically the stories of women who took on domestic work in foreign countries. Although it wasn’t always a pleasant experience, and they faced many fears and struggles, we decided to tell a positive story based on the highlights of their memories.”

Serious Sim is hosting playtests before its launch and encourages those interested to sign up via their discord. Clean Start also has a demo you can pick up on Steam.
