Between the crush of showcases around Summer Game Fest and the cavalcade of demos that were available during Steam Next Fest, there were one or two announcements that even managed to slip by us! One of these was the release date announcement for Screenbound, which will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Screenbound releases on September 10th, 2026. Check out the official gameplay trailer shown during Day of the Devs 2026.
Developed by Crescent Moon Games and Radical Forge and published by Digital Pajamas, Screenbound is a self-described “5D” first-person platformer adventure game that pits the player against challenges across both 2D and 3D worlds, simultaneously! After finding the QBoy, a mysterious handheld console you find in your mom’s garage, you set off on a reality-splitting adventure through vibrant 3D worlds and retro-inspired 2D levels on your QBoy’s screen, with your actions mirrored across both.
“Embark on an adventure through this unknown world, switching between the realistic 3D world and a retro-styled 2D world, solving puzzles and defeating enemies while uncovering an exciting story in an unknown world.”
Screenbound Key Features:
- Dual-Dimensional Gameplay: Control both 3D and 2D versions of yourself simultaneously. Your actions mirror across realities, but the rules don’t.
- Challenging Puzzles: Solve different puzzles that require shifting perspective, timing, and logic across two planes of existence.
- Unlock new tools and skills: Unlock new abilities as you progress that give you even more ways to solve the puzzles.
- Uncover the Story and Secrets: Explore offbeat areas and discover a unique story through environmental storytelling.
- Dual Focus: Some objects, enemies, and platforms only exist in one world, so stay alert!

For those of you who want to get a sense of what’s in store when Screenbound releases in a few months, a demo is available to try now on PC via Steam.
