Junkster, an enjoyable little platformer has just released for consoles and PC. For Xbox players it’s also a day 1 Xbox Game Pass title. For achievement and trophy hunters it’s a fairly easy completion. We have a 100% achievement guide and roadmap that you can see here. But for this guide, we wanted to focus a bit more on the Cog Master achievement for finding all the cogs.

Junkster has a total of 20 issues to go through. Each issue is essentially a chapter in the form of a comic book. The first issue is a tutorial and the following 19 will have a sticker which has an achievement tied to it as well. You can find a guide for those here.

But if you came to this guide chances are you are looking for the Cogs. In total across the 20 issues there are 3170 Cogs. You can track the how many you have in each issue by highlighting it in the comic section. You can also see your overall progress at the bottom of the screen.

Now the achievement would appear to want you to collect every cog in every level. The good news is if you have already completed a level you can actually just go back and play it and it will be completely setup from when you finished it, making cleanup quick and easy for those few you missed. However as of right now there is actually an easier method to mop this up.

Time Trial Exploit

The game also features a time trial mode. You can select any issue you’ve already completed and do a time trial run where the goal is to beat your previous time in the level. Everything is reset and you can blast through the issue to get those quick times.

But for achievement hunters looking to get the completion easier, the time trial also puts the Cogs back in place and lets you collect them again and they count towards the tracking of the achievement.

As you can see by the screenshot above I’m missing 79 Cogs, but I have the achievement thanks to the time trial method. Just boot up an issue such as issue 4 which has 475 cogs in it and start collecting them again. Or you can go with something like issue #5 which is really quick and can net you 150.

Whatever issue you use, those cogs will count and help you unlock the achievement much quicker than going through and looking for what you missed. This might be patched at some point so take advantage while you can. That said finding all the cog’s in each level isn’t that daunting, but hey we like saving time don’t we?

Hopefully this guide was helpful. This is one of the few achievements in Junkster that will require some effort to unlock but overall it is not too bad. Let’s go get that completion!
