Square Enix has been having a lot of success of late with their merchandise and pop up shops. Earlier this month they announced a Final Fantasy X pop up shop would be coming soon alongside a bunch of new merchandise. Today the company has announced a new cafe and shop in Los Angeles, with a soft opening taking place tomorrow, June 13th.
This new Square Enix cafe will feature Square Enix themed drinks, entrees and desserts and will have a store attached to sell officially licensed merchandise. The soft opening on Saturday June 13th will feature a limited menu with items inspired by iconic Square Enix franchises such as FINAL FANTASY, DRAGON QUEST and NieR:Automata.
This is quite a cool way to celebrate Square Enix games and anyone heading to the cafe surely won’t be disappointed. Perhaps you might attend and grab a Final Fantasy themed Midgar Fondue Pizza. You can then wash it down with a Dragon Quest themed Squishy She-Slime.
Personally the Warrior of Light No-Bake Cheesecake Mousse looks the best based on the menu. You can see the full soft launch menu here as well as make reservations here. Lunch and Dinner are only available with a reservation as they are expecting to be quite busy. All reservations must purchase at least one drink and one food item per guest.
The Cafe will have the following hours:
Lunch Reservations: 11:30am – 2:00pm
- Last call for food and drinks at 2:45pm
Walk-in Session (drinks and desserts only): 2:00pm – 4:00pm
- Last seating at 4:00pm
Dinner Reservations: 5:00pm – 7:30pm
- Last call for food and drinks at 8:15pm
The grand opening of the cafe and shop will take place the following Saturday, June 20th. They haven’t shown off the full menu just yet, but it will be available at that time. According to the website they will hold limited-time collaborations with other titles in the future. I guess that means for now things will stick to Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Nier.
Merchandise Shop
As mentioned there will be a merchandise shop attached to the cafe. This is the first ever Square Enix shop in the United States. Anyone can head into the merchandise shop as it isn’t directly tied to making a reservation at the cafe. The shop will sell a variety of Square Enix merchandise including the L.A. Chocobo T-Shirt and L.A. Slime T-Shirt.
These items will be exclusive to this store location to celebrate the opening of the store. There will be more official merchandise there from the Square Enix shop though.
