During today’s Nintendo Direct, developer FromSoftware and publisher Nintendo shared a brief new teaser for their upcoming multiplayer game, The Duskbloods, alongside the official announcement of a Closed Network Test scheduled for Summer 2026.
Originally unveiled in April 2025, The Duskbloods is FromSoftware’s first exclusive title for a Nintendo home console since 2003’s Lost Kingdoms II. The new showcase offered a brief glimpse into its setting and atmospheric elements, which blend Gothic and Victorian aesthetics.
- The Gameplay Loop: Matches feature a mix of Player vs. Player (PvPvE) and Player vs. Environment (PvE) combat.
- The Setting: Set during an event known as the “Twilight of Humanity,” locations across different eras and spaces converge as characters fight over a source called the “First Blood.”
- The Roster: Players choose from over a dozen vampire-like characters known as Bloodsworn, who wield unique weapons, including firearms, and can summon companions to aid them in combat.
The brief trailer also highlighted unique character designs, showing off environments and new weapon types.
The exact date and registration details for the Closed Network Test were not revealed, but FromSoftware’s parent company Kadokawa noted that the game was on track for a 2026 release date in it’s 2026 fiscal reports.
