French studio, Asobo have finally revealed a launch date for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and there isn’t long to wait. The game’s full release will be on August 27th, 2026. The game will launch on to PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S and PC, as well as Day One into XBOX Game Pass.
Announced at the XBOX Games Showcase 2025, Resonance features Sophia who is a returning franchise character. She appears prominently in the second Plague Tale, Requiem which launched in 2022. Resonance is her prequel story, on a journey to a Minatour’s island in what the developer is calling a brand-new take in the franchise’s universe. Recently Asobo shared more on Sophia and her design for this fresh ocean-spanning title.
Taking place 15 years before Requiem, this adventure of plunder, combat and mythical trials is shaping up to be one of the years hottest adventure games, as you can see in the release date trailer below.
If you’re yet to play the two prior Plague Tale titles, I truly cannot recommend them enough. Fantastic single-player action adventures that see brother, Hugo and elder sister sister, Amicia traverse a plague-ridden Europe full of flesh-hungry rats and truly atrocious humans who are equally as vicious as the vermin. Requiem, which is available in Game Pass, is also one of the most stunning games you can currently play with sensational visuals.
