We’re in the home stretch of the summer showcase season (my fingers are relieved at hearing this news). Earlier today, we had our annual Xbox Games Showcase, with all the announcements, trailers, and new looks at gameplay that one could ask for! While there were several new looks and games that caught my eye, one little creature with a solitary wing stuck out to me. And no, I’m not talking about Sephiroth (for more on that, check out our coverage of the Summer Game Fest Showcase). I’m talking about a little bird featured in Bad Magpie.
HOW STINKING CUTE (AND VILLAINOUS)! The first thing I thought when I saw this game was “Are we getting a new Untitled Goose Game…with a magpie?” And while I wasn’t right – I wasn’t too far off, let’s be honest.

But maybe there is more to this villain than meets the eye? Oh, there definitely is! At the end of the day, he’s just a simple magpie who wants to reunite with his missing flock and fly high in the skies again.

What to Expect with Bad Magpie
Bad Magpie is pitched as a exploration adventure game where you will be routinely “..stealing shiny trinkets, causing chaos, and sticking your beak where it doesn’t belong.” And if our trailer is anything to go by, chaos will reign supreme in this title.

However, I do feel that at the end of this day, all of this chaos will be for a good cause. Why, you ask? Because this certain magpie has an unhealthy obsession with chasing after a fallen star. And you know what they say about making wishes on shooting stars, right?

Bad Magpie is coming to us from Milktooth Games, and while this game does not yet have a tentative launch date, I will definitely be “waiting in the wings” for this one!
