Summer Game Fest pulled no punches early on in the show. One of the first few announcements was that Cuphead will be back in more ways than one. It was announced that a new Cuphead game is in early development, continuing the hand drawn art style that was part of what made the first game such a smash hit. Studio MDHR is only in early stages of the game. So expect that it will be a bit before we see more on that.
However rather than keeping us waiting, a new game, Mighty Cuphead Adventure was revealed as well. The game is an 8bit throwback game built using Sega Master System hardware. The game looks to play like a cross between Mega Man and Alex Kidd

It looks as if Cuphead, Mugman, Miss Chalice will all be playable. Rather than a boss rush game like what the original Cuphead largely was, Mighty Cuphead looks to be like the run and gun levels that were featured in the game in a smaller capacity. It looks as if some of the enemies from the first game will be bosses as well just given the appearance of the root pack.

There’s no release date just yet on Mighty Cuphead Adventure just yet but hopefully we’ll get updates soon. It’s great that Cuphead looks to be firing on all cylinders again almost 10 years later. Are you ready to revisit Cuphead? Which of the two are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments down below.
