Arise, Foul Tarnished! Yes, it’s the moment that some Nintendo fans have been waiting for since the Switch 2 launched. The moment that defined the most recent Souls game iterations. The launch of Elden Ring to the Switch 2! The news was dropped on the official Twitter handle of Elden Ring earlier today. And I’ll be honest – it’s phenomenal to hear!

It’s been in talks for quite some time, and we now have an official date. Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will be officially launching on August 28th, 2026. A mere two months and change away! But here’s the thing – what am I actually getting from this Tarnished Edition?
More Details on Tarnished Edition
So, here’s what comes with the fabled Tarnished Edition of Elden Ring:
- The original game Elden Ring;
- The “Shadow of the Erdtree” expansion;
- A new armor set (wonder who it caters to?); and
- Customization options for the appearance of our beloved steed, Torrent

But what about the price? Well, that information is…spotty online. So, a quick cursory internet dive brought up the physical copy of the Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on Amazon. The asking price? $79.99. Oof. My poor wallet. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t even own a Switch 2 yet! But what about the digital edition of the game? That’s where things get a little more…murky. As in, there doesn’t seem to be a listing of the game currently. The only information that I could find on my end was this link to the English Nintendo e-shop. And there’s not a price to be seen.
Fingers crossed that we’ll see the digital-only version of Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition sell for a bit less.
