A new beast has appeared from the shadows in the form of The Lost Wild, an evasion-based survival horror experience against nature’s ultimate hunters — dinosaurs. Revealed during the PlayStation State of Play, the game is being developed by Great Ape Games and published by Annapurna Interactive
A New Contender: Jurassic Park Meets Alien Isolation?
Though the trailer doesn’t give us much as far as the actual game and the story it’ll follow, we can come to the very obvious conclusion that it will probably play similarly to games like Alien Isolation. Besides a few clips of the protagonist exploring the desolate ruins of some kind of industrial facility, we do, however, get a few stills of some of the dinosaurs we’ll be running away from throughout our journey.

The trailer seems intent on keeping most of the actual gameplay elements out of view for now, besides a few staples that we’ve come to expect in a game like this, such as throwing objects to incapacitate the dinosaurs, using the environment to hide, and, more than anything, running away. There really isn’t much else to this trailer besides these few elements, but I’ve seen just enough to be intrigued by what this title is shaping up to be. Here are a few more screenshots if you are still on the fence about it.
The Good Stuff: Environments

True fear is primal. Embark on an evasion-based survival horror experience against nature’s ultimate hunters, dinosaurs. Explore overgrown research facilities nestled in a lush wilderness. Be resourceful as you evade, distract, survive, and unravel the mystery at the heart of the island.
‘The Lost Wild’ is set to release in 2027.
