Digital Eclipse has made a name for itself in recent years. This is mainly thanks to great retro game compilations such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection and Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection. Today, the studio and parent company Atari have revealed that they will be teaming up with Disney. The purpose? To release Toy Story: Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3: Complete Edition.
Toy Story: Retro Roundup is a collection of classic games based on the beloved Disney Pixar films. It will consist of several of the classic Tory Story titles, and, for some strange reason, A Bug’s Life (1998). The game will include both console and handheld versions of each title. Also included will be plenty of archival media, including newly filmed documentary content featuring the likes of Woody’s video game voice actor Jim Hanks and Traveler’s Tales founder Jim Burton.
The 2009 Toy Story 3 tie-in video game will receive its own unique remaster titled Toy Story 3: Complete Edition. This remaster will seemingly be based only on the console version developed by Avalanche Software. It is also confirmed to feature all of the PlayStation 3 exclusive content. This title is often cited as a cult classic due to its introduction of the ‘Toy Box Mode’, which would serve as the basis for Avalanche’s Disney Infinity series.

Toy Story Remaster Release Timeline
These remasters will unfortunately not be ready in time for Toy Story 5 later this month, which feels like somewhat of a missed opportunity. Both are instead set to launch this October. Toy Story 3: Complete Edition will run at up to 4K resolutions at 60 frames-per-second on supported consoles. Retro Roundup will also offer a higher resolution option for the PS1 entries.
Both titles will release on October 15 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
