It seems Oddworld Inhabitants are up to something. A “Part 3” is being teased on a recent Soulstorm video they posted.

It’s been a few years since the release of 2021’s Oddworld: Soulstorm, the reimagining of Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus. Since then, the developers of all things odd have been quiet. Until recently when a new video appeared on their YouTube, titled “Is This the END……”

The video features the good ending from Oddworld Soulstorm, with Abe and a couple of Mudokons chatting around a fire. Reflecting on the events that had just transpired, Abe reveals that the Mudokons all share the same mother, and that she is alive. She is being held in the Glukkon capital, Nolybab.

Abe is determined to find her and ask her why she left the rest of the Mudokons, and stitched his lips together. After the cutscene, an additional screen is added stating “Part 3 coming…”

The concept of the Oddwolrd Quintology was such an exciting prospect when I was younger. Apparently, we’ve only had two of the games from the Quintology. Both Exoddus (Soulstorm) and Munch’s Oddysee were spin-offs, so only Abe’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath are officially Parts 1 and 2 respectively. Whether “Part 3” is the next proper entry in the Quintology, or a spin-off to Abe’s story, like Exoddus, remains to be seen.

With Summer Game Fest around the corner, could we be about to see a reveal of what Oddworld Inhabitants have been working on for the last five years?
