Amongst the dozens of announcements at the Six One Indie Showcase for May 2026, we got the news that the upcomimg retro Souls-like Mouseward now has a demo available on PC.
Check out the Mouseward Demo trailer below:
Developed by Finite Reflections Studios, who readers may know as the team behind Void Sols, Mouseward is a N64-inspired third-person Souls-like game. Players take on the role of a diminutive Royal Mouse Guard on a sprawling, non-limear adventure to gather the celestial fragments scattered across the world which are warping reality and raising the dead, including the player character!
An accompanying press release describes Mouseward’s combat as “challenging, stamina-based and not for those who squeak at the first sign of danger” with parries amd learning attack patterns being key to survival.
Mouseward key features include:
- Challenging Soulslike Combat: Engage in deliberate, stamina-based combat where every move matters.
- Vast Collectathon Worlds: Hunt for scattered star fragments, unlock powerful new abilities, and open secret paths in sprawling, non-linear levels packed with fearsome foes.
- Customize Your Mouse Guard: Discover a variety of weapons, armor sets, and arcane abilities.
- A Somber, Quirky Cast: Encounter a memorable cast of woodland critters, both friend and foe.

The trailer does a great job showimg off Mouseward’s challenging combat and 90s gaming aesthetics, and we can’t wait to check out the demo to see how it feels.
Mouseward is planned to release on PC, but has no release date as of yet. A demo is available on PC via Steam.
