The summer season of gaming announcements is almost upon us. When it used to be all contained within E3, it was easier to keep tabs of what was going on. Now, there’s showcases taking place left, right and centre. As expected, Sony have confirmed their own showcase for the summer with a State of Play taking place on June 2, 2026
Sony are promising a big show, with over 60 minutes of news and announcements, including a closer look at the hotly anticipated upcoming Wolverine, which launches September 15, 2026. The previous gameplay trailer for the Marvel title was stellar, with a hardcore take on the most iconic member of X-Men.
It’s unannounced what other games will feature at the show, though it’s likely we will see more on Marvel T?kon: Fighting Souls which is a Sony console exclusive, launching in August. We may also see Naughty Dog’s next big project, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet which was announced at the The Game Awards 2024.
The last State of Play in February also featured trailers of PlayStation exclusive, Silent Hill: Townfall, which is scheduled to arrive later this year. Let’s hope we see more on the latest entry from a franchise which is currently thriving.
When is the June State of Play
The June State of Play takes places on June 2, 2026. Times as follows: 2:00pm PT / 5:00pm ET (North America), 10pm UK, 11:00pm Central Europe. The show will thus take place in the early hours in Asia on June 3 at 6:00am JST.
Where to Watch the State of Play
The show will be broadcast on PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels. Co-streamers are welcomed by Sony.
