Announced at the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct early last year, FromSoftware’s next title, The Duskbloods has been quiet ever since.
The Duskbloods is a multiplayer game with the stunning gothic/Victorian style that From have perfected in their greats including Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Directed by industry legend, Hidetaki Miyazaki, the game initially started life as a Switch game before the studio upped the ante to become a Switch 2 title. Considered a PvPvE game, multiplayer is at the core of The Duskbloods and it uses the enhanced online capabilities of Switch 2 to better deliver that vision.

As news of the game had gone quiet, many had begun to wonder whether we would see the game reach shelves this year. Now, in a latest earnings report, FromSoftware’s parent company, Kadokawa have reconfirmed their intentions to release the game this year, whilst reconfirming Switch 2 exclusivity (via Famitsu).
In the below slide – which can be viewed as slide 86 here – The Duskbloods appears as a 2026 title, alongside Super Danganronpa 2×2:

After last years excellent standalone Elden Ring: Nightreign which we enjoyed here in our review, FromSoftware’s follow-up title is again multiplayer. This has been controversial to From fans who have traditionally enjoyed incredibly difficult solo experiences.
Speaking to Nintendo about The Duskbloods, Miyazaki was keen to ensure players that the game is suitable to players who prefer to avoid others: “I personally am not much of a PvP person, and I wanted to make something that’s satisfying even for players like me. While the goal of a match is to obtain First Blood, there are personal objectives that provide separate rewards to the player as well, so I hope these add to the fun of each engagement.”
He also added: “we still intend to actively develop single player focused games such as this that embrace our more traditional style.” (credit: Nintendo).

For fans of solo Soulslike experiences, earlier this week Neowiz announced that the sequel to Lies of P is now in full production – and the GSC team truly cannot wait.
