Star Wars: Galactic Racer Heads To The Starting Line This October

A new spin on the Star Wars franchise is headed to the starting line later this year. Fuse Games has announced today that their racing game in the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: Galactic Racer will release October 6th as they plant their flag ahead of the vaunted Grand Theft Auto VI release date.

Galactic Racer will see players take control of landspeeders, speeder bikes, and skim speeders. Featuring a single player campaign, players will become Shade, a pilot who enters the Galactic League, and unsanctioned racing circuit in the Outer Rim of the Star Wars Galaxy.

And when you aren’t in the mood for the single player portion, there is also a multiplayer portion, allowing you to test your skills against other pilots. The multiplayer will feature up to 12 player racing.

There have been many Star Wars games over the years as LucasFilm’s has given the license out to many teams, so it’s good to see a studio take a different take on the IP than others. A racing game in the Star Wars universe could do quite well if pulled off.

With today’s announcement of an October 6th release date, we also got pre-order details as well as the announcement of various physical editions. There will be standard and deluxe editions available both physically and digitally at a price point of $59.99/£49.99/€59.99 for the Standard Edition.

The Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99/£64.99/€79.99 and includes:

There will be an upgrade path at launch for those who want to upgrade from the standard edition to the deluxe edition as well.

Collector’s Edition

For big fans of Star Wars, there is also a collector’s edition. The collector’s edition comes packed with a ton of stuff at a very reasonable price point of $159.99/£139.99/€159.99. Considering you get an art book,steelbook and a statue its almost a steal for the price.
