Once a PlayStation exclusive, the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy is making its way to all platforms. Earlier this year Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade released for both the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S and performed well on both platforms.
The second part of the trilogy, the exceptional Rebirth, is due to arrive on Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S on June 3, 2026. Arriving digitally for both platforms, with a physical Game-Key Card for Switch 2.
Like Remake, the Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game will be seeing a demo ahead of release to give gamers the chance to sample the much larger Rebirth before the game’s full release. Surprise releasing today, the demo is now downloadable:
You can, of course, download via your respective console.
The demo contains a sizeable start to the game, take players all the way through to the end of Chapter 2, ‘A New Journey Begins’. Player progression will carry forward to the main game from the demo. And as an added bonus, “If you have save data from the demo, you can claim a kupo charm and survival set containing helpful items.”
This marks the second of the three games coming to Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. Though they’ve both arrived later than to PlayStation hardware, it is confirmed that the to-be named trilogy finale will arrive to all platforms simultaneously. The finale that will continue to use the UE4 Engine.
