He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Dragon Pearl of Destruction, the retro-inspired 2D beat-em-up game by developer Bitmap Bureau, and published by Limited Run Games has announced it’s being delayed.
Originally due to release April 28th, 2026, just a mere 2 weeks away, the game has been pushed back to an undisclosed date this summer. The game will see a later release date to “refine the game and deliver an experience worthy of fans”. April has been a pretty busy month already, with a lot more releases coming in the next few weeks. Honestly I’m okay with the team pushing it back and further polishing the game.

With the continued reemergence of the beat-em-up genre, releasing your game in the best state it can be is the best option here. With recent releases such as Scott Pilgrim EX, Absolum, and Marvel Cosmic Invasion all releasing to stellar reviews, He-Man has his work cut out for him. Hopefully a later date in Summer will give the game the time it needs to shine.
It’s also possible that the He-Man movie can also drum up additional interest in the game series. Perhaps this timing will allow the game to line up with the movie? A new generation could be ready for He-Man.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Dragon Pearl of Destruction will release later this summer digitally for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series consoles, and PC. You can wishlist now on Steam as well.
Will you help save Eternia from the evil Skeletor later this summer when the game launches? Let us know down in the comments. Be sure to check out the Gamer Social Club Discord to chat with us on all things He-Man.
