Beethoven and Dinosaur’s new music-infused game, Mixtape finally arrives next month after delays. It’s a game that I’ve been absolutely raring to play since the game’s reveal during the Xbox Games Showcase all the way back in summer 2024. As a big fan of narrative story’s, particularly those with a fun teen cast, it’s very high on my personal radar.
Through the various trailers we’ve seen a variety of gameplay and the locations that the game will have to offer. As hype builds for the game, the developer have teased us with a short clip of one of the character’s bedrooms which is where we will likely have some non-shenanigan downtime to reflect on some adolescent mayhem.
Stacey Rockford’s room certainly has Chloe Price bedroom vibes from the original Life is Strange, as well as Chloe’s own prequel, Before the Storm. With posters over the walls, a cassette player and a skateboard, this bedroom is as 90s as it gets.
We can also see shelves full of vinyl’s belonging to Stacey Being so music-led, Mixtape is bringing a “nothing but the hits” soundtrack for its launch with music from 90s greats including Iggy Pop, Joy Division and Smashing Pumpkins to name a few.

Mixtape will release on May 7, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation, Switch 2 and PC (Windows. Steam and Epic Games Store). Mixtape will also be Day One with Xbox Game Pass.
