Yakuza Dark Ties, the new story focused on antagonist Mine, features a new gameplay mechanic called Kanda Damage Control, where Mine must complete tasks to boost the reputation of his aniki, Kanda. During chapter 2, Zenba will tell you about good deeds, which function as this game’s version of substories from the regular series. This guide will cover each good deed and the requirements needed to fulfill it. Although there will be a bunch of deeds listed, you only need to choose 7 of them to complete.

To first be able to unlock the Good deeds, you must first reach chapter 2 of Dark Ties, and then also reach rank 2 of Kanda Damage Control. Head out of the office and do some of the tasks nearby. Once you hit rank 2, head back, and Zemba will tell you of an underground Coliseum he would like you to check out, which will be your first one. All these good deeds reward a good chunk of reputation points and money, so they are worth checking out even beyond the 7 needed.
1. Coliseum Investigation
Head to the alley behind Cafe Alps, where you will be invited to the underground coliseum. Here you be learn about Survival Hell, the dungeon crawling mode. This introductory level shouldn’t be an issue; just make sure you have at least 1 health and damage upgrade, and you should be fine. Once you finish, head back to the office and let Zemba know the details.
2. Homeless Outreach Effort
Up near the hotel district, there will be a group handing out food to the homeless. The director of the program will approach Mine and ask if he’d like to help them out. While handing out food, a fight will break out. Step in and defeat the homeless man. Afterwards, a cutscene will happen, and you can ask the director whatever you would like. After he answers, some yakuza will show up and start beating up the homeless. Defeat them to finish this deed.
3. Employment Assistance Scam
To start, head over to the Poppo on East Shichifuku Street, and once inside, there will be a foreigner working behind the counter. You’ll witness someone come in trying to scam them, step in and defeat the scammer. Afterwards, Miguel will thank you, and you’ll both head over to West Park to have a chat.
After the cutscene, head back to the Poppo store to see Miguel talking to the loan shark. Miguel will end up fainting in the store, and Mine will ask where the loan shark office is. Head over to the office on Senryo Ave, defeat the 2 men to get another cutscene to finish this mission.
4. Graffiti Eradication Campaign
Take the taxi over to the location next to Children’s Park on West Shichifuku St, and watch the cutscene. Mine will talk to the child after, who will give you a name to go off of. Zemba will find out some info, and instruct you to head over to Nakamichi Alley. Once there, defeat Enokida and his groupies, and a cutscene will play showing the cops picking them up, covered in spraypaint by Mine.
5. Operation: Balls
A nice little nod to a famous anime, Mine will be tasked with locating the 7 golden balls and getting a wish from Shen-san. The 7 balls can be found here:
- Ball 1: Located in the Mach Bowl across from your office, will be on the right side wall.
- Ball 2: Located in Theatre Square, can be found on a movie poster, to the left of the Smile Burger.
- Ball 2: Inside the batting cages, at the north end of the building.
- Ball 3: Head over to Kiss Shot Billiards, the ball will be on the pool table.
- Ball 4: Head over to the Dragon Palace, take the elevator up and head into the first door on your left. The ball will be on top of a lamp.
- Ball 5: Head to Nakamichi St, to the left of the Smile Burger, will be a little alcove, grab the ball off the poster there.
- Ball 7: Head over to Kotobuki Drugs off Pink St. The ball will be on the giraffe at the back of the store.
Once you have all 7 balls, head over to the front of the Millennium Tower, where you can talk to Shen to get your wish. Choose whatever option, as some will give you some funny dialogue.
6. Maintain Safety for Sex Workers
After the chat with Zenba, head over to the sex shop on Pink Street, where the manager will be outside. He will talk about a man who fits Kanda’s description, who is disturbing everyone and won’t leave one of the hostesses alone. Agree to keep watch, wait until the man who looks like Kanda jumps in, and defeat him to put an end to this.
7. Vehicle Burglary Prevention
Once it is nighttime, head over to the parking lot next to the batting cages. Talk to the police officer about the recent break-ins, and once done, head over to the big parking lot over on East Shichifuku St, and there will be 3 people working on cars. Confront the one over on the right, and fight them. He’ll run away, and you’ll learn from the police officer that it is his son. Afterwards, head up to the front of the Dragon Palace, and Shoto will be getting hit by a bunch of yakuza. Defeat them to finish this deed.
8. Public Intoxication Awareness Campaign
Here, you will be tasked with dealing with a group of drunk movie cosplayers causing issues for the bar. Head over to Bantam near the Millennium tower. Inside, you’ll have to defeat the drunks, dressed as yakuza. Once that is done, head outside, and you will receive a call from Zenba. He said the barowner has sent an SOS, and that the drunks are back. This time, they will be dressed as pirates. Defeat them once again to end this. The bartender will make a nice little tongue-in-cheek joke.
9. A Shift in Kamurocho’s Working Girls
People are complaining about the rise in prostitution and want Kanda to handle it. Head over to East Taihei Blvd, and a cutscene will play. Eventually, a suspicious man will confront one of the women. Defeat him, and then you’ll meet Megu and Jun. Jun is the one controlling the young women in the area. Come back to the area later, and the women will say they haven’t seen Megu in a while. You’ll need to head up toward the hotel district, where you will run into Jun again. Defeat him to gain access to the hotel. Inside, defeat the client to save Megu. She’ll talk about going back to live with her parents and thanks you for rescuing her.
10. Panty Thief P.I.
The word around town is that there is a panty thief loose, named Lupanty. Kanda will come over to Mine and Zenba, talking about his nice silk undies that are missing, and tasks you with tracking them down. Head over to the champion district, and there will be a hostess to talk to who has details about Lupanty. Afterwords you will set a trap for him in West Park. After the cutscene, you will need to chase him around town, avoiding the panties he throws at you. It’ll end at Public Park 3, where you must lay the smackdown on him. Once the cutscene ends, you’ll be back in the office, and Kanda will realize he was wearing his favourite pair of undies.
11. To Catch a Serial Killer
Here you’ll learn about the Kamuro killer, who’s been killing women around town. Head to Theatre Square to meet Inohara, whose sister was killed by the serial killer, and he wants to kill him in revenge. Head to the alley across from Public Park 3, and you’ll run into the killer. Defeat him in battle, and Inohara will try to go through with it, but can’t. Mine will end up hurting him badly and turning him over to the cops.
12. Uncovering Police Corruption
Zenba will task you with dealing with a corrupt police officer smuggling weapons to gangs. Head over to the location on Senryo Ave, and watch the cutscene of a young cop going over the shipment with some gangsters. Mine will get caught, and you must defeat the group to continue.
For the next part, head to the empty lot on East Shichifuku Street to see Kudo scolding Aoe. Talk to the cop after and then head to the Champion District. Here, Aoe will be getting beaten by Kudo, defeating him and the gangsters to put an end to the corruption.
13. Coliseum Investigation Results
