Whilst Gamer Social Club staff are torn on whether Grand Theft Auto VI will actually release in 2026, given repeated delays of the game already, Rockstar have reaffirmed that they fully intend to release the game in November.
As to whether Rockstar Games will indeed deliver on that intention, we will have to wait and see. Creating probably the biggest game in the history of the medium has created intense pressure on the developer to make sure they deliver on an expectation that is on a truly global scale.
When GTA VI was delayed till 26 May 2026, Take-Two CEO, Strauss Zelnick confirmed that he was fully supportive of the decision. Whether the Scotland studio will be blessed with more time beyond November 2026 will likely be controversial for the publisher and consumers alike.
Alas, Take-Two, Rockstar Games parent company, have shared their release schedule during their latest earnings call / presentation which still features GTA VI with a release date of 19 November 2026:

Other notable games re-confirmed for the foreseeable future are WWE 2K26 which launches March 13 2026, as well as Judas and Project ETHOS which both have TBA release dates.
GTA VI Physical
In recent days there has been speculation that Rockstar would defer the physical release of Grand Theft Auto VI for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 until post-launch, as to avoid spoilers. That is now confirmed to not be the case. In the earnings call, Zelnick confirmed that “That’s not the plan,”.
Something everyone wants to still know however, will GTA VI be the first $100 USD game?
