What is Coffee Talk?

For those who have not already come across the Coffee Talk series, let’s fill you in. Coffee Talk is a visual novel that had its first release in 2020. Players will serve as owner and only employee of a shop called Coffee Talk in an urban fantasy setting. Customers will visit the shop and discuss their life and current dilemmas to the barista. Imagine being a bartender hearing the plight of others just without all of the drunkenness that typically follows. Coffee Talk does have mini games where the player will make a variety of drinks that may change your customers reactions and conversations with you.

Coffee Talk has always had quite a variety of characters to get to know and enjoy.

While unfortunately the primary creator of the series, Mohammad Fahmi, passed away in 2022, the series and legacy continues on. In 2023 Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly was released as a stand alone entry in the series. Now the next entry will take players to Tokyo and will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

The news is of course disheartening but for many of us, but for the quality Coffee Talk consistently delivers we can wait. Will you be stepping into the Coffee Talk universe when Coffee Talk Tokyo releases May 21, 2026? Let us know in the comments below.
