Mega Lucario Z Making Debut in Pokémon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension

The Pokémon Company and GameFreak have today announced Mega Lucario Z, a new form for everyone’s favorite generation 4 Pokémon. Sporting a new teal colored coat, the new form for the fighting type Pokémon certainly stands apart from its counterpart. Mega Lucario was originally announced back for Pokémon X and Y back in 2013, and the form has been a fan favorite for players since.

The announcement of Mega Lucario Z also comes with the introduction of the new Z Mega Evolution. The difference between this and regular Mega Evolution being the Pokémon is able to fire off their moves quicker than normal, but also can’t last as long in that form due to using up more mega energy. How this will affect battles in game remains to be seen, but could be interesting, especially for the ranked online mode.

A new mystery gift also was announced to start today, gifting anyone who claims it a Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y. With these you’ll gain access to a side quest that sends you back to Lysandre Cafe and allows you the chance to catch this fabled legendary.

Are you excited about the reveal of Mega Lucario Z? Will you be catching Mewtwo later today? Let us know down in the comments. Pokémon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension launches December 10 on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
