Baby Steps – Most Responsible Person Trophy Guide

There are a total of 12 Trophies to unlock in Baby Steps, typically in an attempt to test your patience as you gather items and painfully take steps towards its delivery. Oftentimes, the goal to achieve the trophy is simple, but everything is always seemingly out of your reach.

Read our review of Baby Steps if you’re interested in our full thoughts on the game.

Baby Steps is an open world with no maps. It’s also a game with several ways to reach the objective: take the direct, yet difficult and dangerous route, or the much longer, but safer route. It’s important to pay attention and take note of interesting landmarks. This is what we’ll use in order to help you get through these objectives.

Most Responsible Person Trophy Guide

Here is our guide for the Most Responsible Person trophy, which asks you to rescue the child of a very responsible parent. Upon arriving at the next area called Poison Hills, you’ll be treated to several interesting structures all over this area. Right away, you should already be able to see and access the firetower, which has always been the destination of our many deliveries. Going to the firetower will be our first clue to let us know what today’s goal will be.

Missing: my son, a cup. REUNITE US? At the firetower

Actually, since we’re visiting the firetower first, the signage will actually say: “REWARD: I lost it, my child (a trophy) – Place him in the bin?” I should’ve known that this “child” was not going to be a person… Regardless, the challenge will be actually finding the trophy. As you follow the path laid around this zone, “The Sculpture Walk”, you’ll soon find more signage stating: “Missing: my son, a cup. REUNITE US? At the firetower.” Actually, looking at the sign itself, you’ll see that he was last seen at the Sculpture Walk.

Technically, to find it, you’ll just have to visit every single sculpture to find the son, but this is what you are here for!

Look for an EGG

“North” of the pool of milk (don’t ask…), you’ll eventually encounter an area with lots of stone “fencing” that totally looks like a Baby Steps challenge (or potential trophy location or something), as well as a giant egg.

Once you do, head in that direction and you’ll see another sign regarding the missing “son”. However, this is the sculpture that does actually have the son nearby! Facing away from the signage, you’ll see a group of trees just in front of you.

Head towards the right side of this greenery until you find a slight gap you can walk through. Once you do, you’ll see that little rascal, and you’ll be on your way to an easy-peasy trophy!

TIPS (before picking up the SON)

  • This is NOT like the first trophy in the first area
  • Plan an easy and safe route back to the firetower ahead of time
  • You DON’T want to drop it
  • If you do, prepare to “run”

So, since this is Baby Steps, we should already know that the trophy we are bringing back isn’t going to be a normal trophy, especially not when the guy calls it his “son”. If you ARE able to bring this item back without dropping it at all, then congratulations, you are extremely better than me at this game, or this guide helped you enough that you prepared for the worst (you’re welcome then!).

If not, if your Nate is like the irl version of me, where taking one step forward is uncertain and could mean impending doom, then, sadly, you’ll drop that little bugger.

IF you DROP the trophy (spoiler, of course)

  • it will not break, but…
  • It will RUN AWAY from you
  • It has similar climbing abilities to you, but is way better at it
  • Will slow down/stop once it’s far enough, allowing you to catch up

So yeah, trophy’s got legs… because, why not? This is such a struggle for me, because I am not a very clutch person and I kept dropping it so close to the firetower. If you do lose track of him, I found it best to just walk towards where you lost it, and just pan the camera around to look for the trophy. He will definitely hang around, almost waiting to be found.

Back home at last

After some anger, some tears, and hopefully some laughter, I hope you made it to the firetower with the trophy in tow, awarding you a much-deserved trophy. It’s interesting what Nate says to the little guy after putting him in the bin, letting him go. I think it perfectly captures how I felt after the struggle I had completing this delivery, and maybe my overall feeling about Baby Steps.

That was our Most Responsible Person Trophy Guide for Baby Steps! We hope you found it helpful and that you didn’t break any controllers or your patience along the way! We’ll have more guides for Baby Steps soon as we play more through the game!
