More Updates Come to Borderlands 4

It honestly feels like ages have passed since Borderlands 4 was announced. But here we are and Borderlands 4 has been out for just under one week now!

To date, Borderlands 4 has been met with “generally favorable” reviews on Metacritic. However, there have been rumblings in the community that the the game’s launch to PC has been mired with poor performance issues and bad optimization. As noted by TechRadar, it’s reported that Borderlands 4 has struggles running on the RTX 5090 at a 4K resolution. 2K, however, has been hard at work with patches since the game’s launch on September 12th. And today marks another update!

Let’s dive into specifics!

More on the September 18th Update

Weekly Minor Updates

Weekly Big Encore Boss

This event promises to be a tougher variant of an already existing boss within the game. But don’t worry – with greater risk comes a more rewarding loot pool to the victorious!

Weekly Wildcard Mission

These updates will provide some unique variant twists to existing missions within the game. Along with this new caveat in the mission, there is also the allure of guaranteed Legendary drop that can be repeatedly earned until you find what fits your playstyle best!

Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine

The Black Market Vending machine will be on the move and it’s up to you to find it! Here’s the neat part – while it will always be in the same location, your specific vending machine will have items that are different from other players. Ask around – someone else might have the gear you want!

  • Gameplay & Progression
    • That pesky issue where the Reward Center might stop working after claiming the Gilded Glory Pack rewards has been patched.
    • Patches have been made to the mission “Talk to Zadra”, where players experienced progression blockers – specifically, the objective failing if players were to exit and re-launch mid-dialogue.
    • “Doesn’t own DLC” warnings on non-DLC gear should be gone!

  • Loot & Items
