Hell is Us is third-person action-adventure game that aims to “return to the roots of adventure games” by getting players to rely on their instincts rather than way points and map markers. It’s ambitious and quite rewarding to make progress and discover stuff off the beaten path.

There’s a whole host of puzzles, mysteries and strange items to be found in the world of Hadea, where Hell is Us is set. Not to mention weird looking enemies too!

With that in mind, we’ve pulled together some guides which we hope are helpful. The Hell is Us Beginner’s Guide aims to give you some top tips of how to get the best start.

Hell is Us: Unlock the Passion for Fashion Achievement / Trophy Guide

As you explore the world of Hadea, the country at the centre of Hell is Us, you’ll come across a variety of caps. These can be equipped by Remi (the character you play) to give you a bit of customisation.

There are 10 caps to be found in the game in total. You start with one, the rest must be found across the locations in Hadea.

Finding the remaining caps will not get you the achievment / trophy. You’ll need to wear them all, this can be done in the ‘loadout’ menu in your datapad (menu).

Cap locations

Please note that the caps are listed in the order found, not necessarily the most efficient order.

Worn Cap (1 / 10)

As a reminder, you start with the first cap, the ‘worn’ cap.

Palomist Cap (2 / 10) – Talju

You can find this cap in Talju. It’s not far from the Timeloop location. It’s in a barn to the left of the Timeloop. Head round the back of the barn, down the side where the tractor is at the front. Head in the back door and climb up the ladder. The cap is at the top of the ladder (white orb).

Terror Cap (3 / 10) – Marastan

This cap is in a chest in the general store. This can be found by moving down the main road and following the road up the slope. You will need the ‘Algae – Keys’. You get this cap as part of completing the ‘Lost Keys Good Deed‘.

Quebec Cap (4 /10)

You will find this cap in Keljin. You’ll need to find the keys for the crane that are in the area. The crane is on the right side of the area (from the starting position). Once you have used to crane to get to the upper area. Open the gate at the top, reactivate the crane, and then head back up and round through the gate. You can then get to the cap (white orb) that the sniping enemy is guarding.

Rage Cap (5 / 10) – Lethe, Ministry of Cultural Primacy

You can find this cap right near the beginning of the area. Head into the Ministry from the car park. The cap is behind the set of stairs before you head up into the area proper.

Sabinian Cap (6 / 10) – Acasa Mashes

This cap can be found in the town of Jova. It’s in Captain Vaas’ office. You can get into this by completing the Captain’s Office Mystery. Once inside, the cap can be found on a coat rack in the right corner of the room.

Ecstasy Cap (7 / 10) – Lethe, National Library

You’ll get this cap by completing the Suspicious Activity Mystery. You will need to locate the set of car keys with the Wolf keychain. Once you've got that, head outside to the car park where you start the area. With your back to the library, head to the upper left corner and seek out a blue and red truck. Use the keys and you'll get a cap and the research item.

To find the car keys, from the beginning of the area. Enter the building and head to the right upstairs. Take a right and right again to find the staff room. Enter the key code 5055 to enter. At the back left in a locker is a note and the car keys.

Grief Cap (8 / 10) – Vyssa Hills

You’ll get this when you need to return to Vyssa Hills once you’ve received the snake emblem. You’ll unlock the chest with that emblem that gives you the snake token. The snake token can be used at the snake door that is located near the Timeloop.

Go through and head into the cave that’s straight across from where you enter the area. Head into the cave and follow it round. You’ll eventually drop down onto a train track. On your right you’ll see a wooden structure blocking the whole way. You can climb up a ladder to get over.

Once on the other side, take your first left and then a right. Follow the path round till you reach the end. The cap is on the right on a wooden walkway.

Gilded Cap (9 / 10) – Sphere (Act 3)

You’ll grab this cap on a desk in the large room where the Timeloop is. This is in the final area of the game.

Veteran Cap (10 / 10) – Lake Cynon

To get this cap, from the APC at the beginning, take a left just after the wooden observation area. Head into the field of blue flowers and up the slight incline.

The cap is located sat on a red backpack overlooking the area. You can see the pond with the crystal pillars from this area.
