With the recent announcement that the highly anticipated Silksong will be launching on September 4th, there have been understandable shifts in release dates for games. It’s understandable – who in their right mind wants to compete with such a launch? Silksong has had more hype than…honestly any sequel that I can recall in nearly four decades of being on this planet. That being said (and much to my personal dismay), Berangin Creative and Soft Source Publishing have formally announced a delay to the release of Kejora.
An update on Kejora ?

We look forward to bringing the game to you on 8th January 2026, on all platforms@berangincreativ pic.twitter.com/EeT2WUVYfj
In their announcement on August 31st, Soft Source stated:
We hold only respect for Team Cherry, and for anyone working on the series. Hollow Knight has always been revered in the community, and it is one of the most anticipated releases – for good reason.
Taking everything into account, we have made the tough decision to delay the release of Kejora, to ensure the game gets the love, support, and attention it deserves.
The official statement also provides a heart-felt appreciation to all who have already supported, played, and wishlisted Kejora.
Kejora’s Background and Future Plans
Kejora, also originally slated for a September 4th launch, was featured in Gamer Social Club’s recap of PAX East 2025. The game was also featured in the June 2025 edition of Demo Disc. Kejora‘s development began in May 2024 and was (wildly enough) initially conceived as a run-and-gun side scroller. The game, as it is now, features Ghibl-esque art design and a cute, yet ominous, story premise. It was also something that I (as a point-and-click puzzle game fan) was looking forward to.

That being said though, we do still have a light at the end of the tunnel. Kejora will be coming soon…just not right now. Soft Source announced that the launch will be delayed to January 8th, 2026. Soft Source further noted that the game will also be coming to the Epic Games Store, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Be sure to stay connected with Gamer Social Club for our future coverage of Kejora. As I have jokingly said, this is a game that I will be playing no matter what! Interested to see what my fervor is all about? Check out the demo of the game on Steam today!
