Use the Hell is Us: Solve the Secrets of the Ram Mystery Guide to solve one of the six mysteries in Senedra Forest, the first area of the game.

Hell is Us is third-person action-adventure game that aims to “return to the roots of adventure games” by getting players to rely on their instincts rather than way points and map markers. It’s ambitious and quite rewarding to make progress and discover stuff off the beaten path.

There’s a whole host of puzzles, mysteries and strange items to be found in the world of Hadea, where Hell is Us is set. Not to mention weird looking enemies too!

With that in mind, we’ve pulled together some guides which we hope are helpful. Please note that these won’t necessarily be step-by-step walkthroughs, but things to look out for to help solve the mystery.

Hell is Us: Solve the Secrets of the Ram Mystery Guide

Throughout Hell is Us, you’ll encounter items that pertain to a ‘mystery’. These are described as “curious enigmas and ancient puzzles scattered throughout Hadea”. You can track these in your Datapad where you can see your inventory, general progress and other things.

The Secrets of the Ram Mystery can be found in the first main area, the Senedra Forest. This is after you have taken the med kit back to the wounded soldier and progressed into the ruins.

Before long, you’ll enter a large hall with a couple of enemies. This is where you get your weapon and begin combat.

Once you’ve defeated them, you’ll spot a large stone structure to the right of the room as you enter, with two small staircases. In the centre of the structure is a large circular structure with symbols on it.

To progress, you’ll need to solve this puzzle. Luckily, the solution is below. Please note this is the solution that worked for me, and at the time of writing I do not know if the answer is the same in every game, or if it’s random.

The order is (from inside ring out)

Inner ring – Tower
Middle ring – Two snakes
Outer ring – Fire

Go through the open doorway and progress ahead. You’ll go through a room with lots of cages and chains. The path will continue round. It’s pretty linear. After going up some steps you’ll spot a big door to your left. On either side is a circular space where you put in an item. You’ll need to find two medallions to unlock this door.

Ram Head Medallion – Viridian (1 / 2)

This one can be found not far after the door you need to unlock. This one is pretty hard to miss. You’ll open a big door, you’ll then encounter two enemies. Kill both of these. You’ll spot the medallion (yellow orb) to the left of the room as you enter.

Ram Head Medallion – Crimson (2 / 2)

As you continue to explore, you’ll leave the underground / indoor area and enter some trenches outside. Navigate around these, heading to the right hand side of the area. There’s a slope out from the trenches where there are a couple of red lights and a save point. Ahead is an enemy, where you are introduced to “Linked” enemies.

After you defeat that enemy, head straight forward, and you’ll spot the medallion (yellow orb) on a corpse in front of you. This is the right of the big structure that overlooks the trenches.

You have everything you need. So you can head back to the door to place the medallions. You can double back from the second medallion and look for the entrance back underground from above the trench line.

At the door, place both medallions and watch out for the enemy on the other side! Inside you’ll get a journal entry collectible and a new glyph to collect.
