Edge of Memories Gameplay Trailer Revealed

If Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 made you want to explore French indie studios with a love of Japanese culture, let me introduce you to Midgar Studio. Perhaps you've heard of them before but can't recall why? You may have seen our piece on their upcoming release Edge of Memories. Future Game Showcase gave us another look into Edge of Memories, the upcoming third person Action-JRPG and follow up to Edge of Eternity.

Midgar Studio has been very excited to get information about Edge of Memories out to the general public. In May, they gave us the first listen of the main theme for Edge of Memories. Of course when you boast names such as Cédric Menendez and Emi Evans, it's easy to want to show off!

For those just catching up, Edge of Memories will take place in the same universe as its predecessor. However, this time, players will be on a different continent. For those with a keen eye, you may recognize the main character, Eline. Initially she was on some of the original Edge of Eternity art work. While she may not have made the cut back then, she definitely was not fogotten. You now get the chance to play a character that Midgar Studio just couldn't let go of. Thankfully, for those meeting Eline for the first time, there's no need to have played Edge of Eternity before diving into Memories.

The Edge of Memories gameplay trailer gave us a look at combat, traversing the world, and a bit of story. At least, just enough story to know what we are up against. The gods don’t seem to be quite on our side. They've looked into our past, seen the darkness, and see us as powerless to change our future. Of course, what kind of game would it be if we didn't rise up against the fate they've seen?

Who needs the belief in gods when they don’t believe in you?

The fast paced combat shown in the trailer shows that we absolutely stand a chance as Eline. Our odds are boosted with party members Ysoris and Kanta by our side. If all else fails, go berserk and hit them with a series of merciless executions to turn the tide of battle. Whether ranged or up close and personal, the combat definitely seems to be quite fun.

While the Steam page allows you to wish list the game and has a release date of Q4 2025, the Future Games Show YouTube channel lists a 2026 release. With just a few months left to go in 2025, it's definitely possible Edge of Memories truly sees a 2026 release. If it does, it seems it'll be well worth the wait on Xbox Series S & X, PlayStation 5, or Steam, wherever you choose to play. Has the Edge of Memories gameplay trailer convinced you to wish list this? Let us know below.
