gamescom 2025 is right around the corner, with Opening Night Live taking place next Tuesday _ 19 August. Geoff Keighley will be bringing us a wealth of trailers of new and exciting games during the show, with other publishers including Xbox also confirmed to be running livestreams (and bringing Silksong) during the worlds biggest video game expedition.

As gamescom will be a stacked week _ and we know all about showcase fatigue here at Gamer Social Club _ some developers and publishers have pushed out footage of their upcoming releases before the marquee shows. The latest big trailer is gameplay of upcoming cyberpunk first and third-person action RPG, Neo Berlin 2087. And if its as good as it looks in the trailer, we’ve something really quite special to look forward to.

Neo Berlin’s gameplay looks a blend of Max Payne and Cyberpunk 2077 with a dousing of stealth, a triangle that’s very likely to start a fire. In the new trailer we get to see new characters Bryan and Pheonix, but what’s most exciting is the action. Slow motion diving and shooting, sneaking up to take out enemies and more.

The trailer pitches a game set in a futuristic Berlin, Brandenburg Gate sandwiched between high rises and flying cars; Berlin TV Tower the heart of a skyscape straight out of Blade Runner and more _ the game’s setting looks truly exciting. If this is just the start of what’s to come from Neo Berlin 2087, I hope it’s not much longer till we get to see more.

Now, I don’t want to get carried away as we’ve been burned by similar exciting titles before – I’m looking at you, MindsEye, but I remain hopeful this could be a pretty great title.

When is Neo Berlin 2087 releasing?

Neo Berlin 2087 is being developed by Berlin-based Elysium Game Studio and will release on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC. A release date is yet to be confirmed. Gamers can wishlist on Steam now.
